Governance

The process of governance entails the determination of authority, decision-making, and accountability in the process of organizing. It is the subject of many disciplines, not least cybernetics, management theory, organization theory, sociology, and political science. We call the activities of governance politics.

As you might imagine, it is important to appreciate what might constitute ‘good governance’ and ‘bad governance’.

Appreciating and striving for good governance is not necessarily straightforward, although the difficulty should not deter any and every effort to do so. Necessarily then, ‘good governance’ accommodates change and maintains the facilities for change.

See moderating.
